I was just skimming the screen shots of the new Star Trek Legacy Game. Found this one. http://i.i.com.com/cnet.g2/images/2006/116/931494_20060426_screen003.jpg
Any of you Star Trek fans know the flaw?

None of you know?
At first glance the saucer shape looks almost oval is that it?
The part the nacells are connected to is supposed to be flush with is the bottem of the ship. They look like they are attached to a piece that is not flush with the mail hull?
Am I close?

The saucer is the right shape for that ship, nacelles looks alright as well. I can't see anything off, except to much light blue in the shield dish?? Well, besides that the light is actually not inside the shield dish either, which would be a major (small) graphics bug... ;) The effect looks good from the two other ships, but the closest one shows it badly.
I'm really hoping they build Legacy right, it's definitely got all the eye candy, ships, and lots of touches to keep or make it cannon to the Trek universe... but everyone is wanting to know if they actually have any strategy in it on the level of the first several Starfleet Command series, or if it is just a good looking but extremely basic arcade shoot'em up like Starfleet Command 3 turned out to be. :???:

I don't really see any flaws other than the ships looking the same  I mean there is only one Enterprise right?

There are 3 of them!!
There where only 2 Galaxy Class Starships built. The Yamato was the flagship but was destroyed right infront of the Enterprise. This left her as the Federations Flagship.

That's not a flaw!! I can't say for the early TNG years, but towards the end of the TNG series there were plenty more Galaxy class starships! Continuing on there were entire fleets of them in DS9, infact the first episode that opened up the whole Dominion War was the destruction of a Galaxy Class ship that looks exactly like this one. ;)
Heh, figures they'd have a wiki on it... This ship, the USS Odyssey was destroyed a few minutes after this shot

Lol Kougar.
Glad to know im not the only one who knows there stuff.
I think I finally became an admitted Trek a holic last year.
Ok I Admitted this last year I have always been a Trekkie.
I hate that new enterprise show though. I have not watched more then 5 min of one. I think it sucks. Deep space 9 was no prize either.
Long live TNG, the Original and Voyager.

Well, there isn't any show anymore, hasn't been for awhile... :( It was a pretty bad idea though to completely rewrite the history books so to speak, I bet it at least helped doom the series before it began. Didn't help they kept rewriting the cannon over and over throughout the show with bigger dramatic events to try and gain a bigger audience.
A bit of good news, Legacy spans all of the Trek series, it has everything from Archer's ship to Janeway's, including a scaled down DS9 itself and all the rest. They even reportedly have all 5 Captains doing voiceovers for this game, but I'll have to wait and see if did anything good with it! There's no demo that I know of... the game release it dated for November 8th, but I don't know how reliable that number is. It could be September the 8th, as I recall that is the 40th anniversary of the Trek universe... ;)

I won't make the 8th of September. They said they are still finishing the voice overs but thegame itself is done and fully functional.
D.C. Fontanna if I spelt that right rote the story for the game. D.C. wrote most of the original series.

Great info! Thanks Scott! :)
Might mean they might actually fix most bugs before releasing it, instead of throwing the game out the door and patching it repeatedly for the following couple months after they release it....

That was a nice thought last September, but from what I've read so far, the reviews ain't good?
Anybody got the skinny on this game?
Anyone seen it?

I play it everyday, not to bad. Glad is is a 40.00 dollar game and not a 60.00 dollar game.
I wish I had some friends that had it so we could do some online battles.

Enterprise comes on HDNT every Monday. I've been watching it. I missed it completely when it originaly aired. It is interesting but leaves a lot to be desired. Not as good as Voyager but better than DS9.
Nothing could ever complete with the original. I had the complete Next Generation series on cassette. I love the exploration, problems and battles that they have through the series. When they have the shows were they want to get into all the politics of the different races it get lame and boring though. DS9 was a snoozer. Voyager had some good episodes and I still watch it sometimes on Spike. None compare to the original or Next Genereation though.

I assumed there was a USS Galaxy as well since it seems most ship classes in Star Trek had a ship named after the class it was in. Also, if any of you played Bridge Commander, there was a Galaxy class ship in it named the Dauntless and a Sovereign class ship named the Sovereign.

Gibson???? DS9 was a snoozer.
:jawdrop:
You must have stopped watching before the Dominon war, they had the best all out starfleet space battles that any of the series had. Kilngons, Federation, Romulan, Gemhadar (sp?) Cardacans, and a few others at the end of the war. They finally used some of their fire power. Given there were some slow non-important episodes, but all the series had them. Plus DS-9 had the best episode of all, they blended the "trouble with tribbles" episode with Kirk and digitally put cast members in from DS-9 it was brillant. You need to watch them on Spike TV. Don't let the first season fool you.

Thanks for the input, Scott.
I saw one copy of it here in Orlando.
Didn't pick it up though. Got a second copy of COH instead.
Maybe I'll pick up Legacy post X-mas and have it delivered.

Well I had ordered this game months ago and it only just arrived last week... I've only played it once but so far it seems like a much improved version of Bridge Commander with a some added strategy.
It looks like a prime candidate to test out that Foxconn USB Gamepad though... a keyboard just really isn't suited for Legacy, a flightstick would be great with the game I think. ;-)

I hope it's much more fun than Bridge Commander. I liked Bridge Commander for the most part but in the end it just bored me. I hope this one is much better gameplay-wise.
