I was waiting for you to post a article on those!
I can't believe it, but I think I like that shuffle... to bad it's only 1gb now though. :( And I bet it will be extremely easy to lose!
Here's a good breakdown of all the new stuff: http://www.dailytech.com/article.aspx?newsid=4138 (http://www.dailytech.com/article.aspx?newsid=4138)

Seeing as how they are so expensive, I hope that someone actually does lose theirs... so I can find it!

I can't justify spending the extra $$$ just for the Apple name brand, as there are other more than capable and excellent mp3 players on the market
...That said, the new iPod Shuffle is damn slick ;)
I also like the decision to switch to aluminum casings, as that should decrease the scratches that the older iPods seemed to attract... colours I could care less about :?

Despite my previous post, I agree on the slickness. :) Why did they keep the shuffle name though? It looks like it has most of the controls of a standard player, but no display.
I wonder what the battery life is on those things - the old rechargeable AAA battery is the only thing I don't like with my current player, since it makes it... well... non-slick. :) The OLED display partly makes up for it.

I bet they kept the Shuffle name, because almost everyone that buys one will always be shuffling through their desks and rooms trying to find it... :-D
The 2nd gen Shuffle weighs exactly 3 nickels, and gets about 12 hours of playback time.
iRiver has their on OLED player that weighs about 4 nickels, but comes with twice the memory size but only 8 hours of playback time: http://www.dailytech.com/article.aspx?newsid=4148 (http://www.dailytech.com/article.aspx?newsid=4148)
