I thought I would put together a list of places where I have gotten materials for modding.
My favorite,
Home Depot-I get Spray paint, screws(metal and plastic),Aluminum angle for frames, tools and rivets. They also sell clear plastic panels.

They sell the mesh for the fronts and all kinds of regular metal. Their shipping is fast and very reasonable and there is no minimum order.
Tap Plastics-

They have plastic in any shape color and will cut it to what ever size you need.

here is where I go to get wiring supplies, they have UV cable ends and the little terminals to make custom ends(make sure you solder them) They also have 12" square pieces of hex mesh for less than $7
