I would love one of those things but I'm sure the price will be in the $1500 range when they come out. I don't think I've seen any price estimates yet. Are there any out there?

It's pretty impressive what a little LN2 can do for your OC's.............;)

Intel Conroe's were also hitting that exact speed with LN2, or liquid nitrogen. That SuperPi time of just under 10 seconds also matches up. ;)
Prices are confirmed QX6700 will be $999, and the Q6600 will be about ~$851. Same clock speeds as the C2D E6700 and E6600.
It's also pretty interesting what LN2 can do for killing motherboards, they almost never last very long... ;)

Might as well aim high! It is amazing just the pure processing power these chips have, even just compared to 5 years ago.

You're right. This has by far been the longest I have gone without a computer upgrade and when the time comes I know I'm going to be floored by how fast things have become. I think my system still runs pretty good but when I see where it falls in the current benchmark rankings I know I'm going to be in for a treat when the time comes to break open my piggy bank.

Just make sure you break your bank on the right components! I sort of wish I'd paid the extra $100 for a full DQ6 instead of a DS3, instead of thinking I could upgrade later to a fully featured board that could still OC. You know what they say about hindsight... ;)
