World of Warcraft (http://www.worldofwarcraft.com/) gamers are seeing a rise in the plague of online scammers, with a recently released trojan (http://www.theregister.co.uk/2006/09/29/warcraft_trojan_attack/) wreaking havoc on many. Certain websites have been seeded to exploit a vulnerability in Windows and Internet Explorer that loads a trojan onto the system (http://www.techspot.com/news/23058-WoW-gamers-struck-by-passwordstealing-trojan.html#) for the sole purpose of stealing account names and passwords from WoW players:

Sounds like the drug dealers...er...ehem..I mean, game developers might be trying to get the players detached from the nipple. WoW2 should be rolling off the line here pretty soon.

The Burning Crusade is an expansion pack to WoW, not a sequal, so players need never leave their characters behind =p That said they're changing the game a fair bit, near-halving raid sizes etc.
