For those folks that know me, this will come as a total surprize.........I have switched my system over to a air cooling for a little testing and to see how the other half lives. I haven't run a totally ar cooled system in a long long time (begining of the AMD XP days). Temps aren't to bad really, even OD'd a little, but the noise does get to me after while though............. Anyway, here's my main rig setup in a standard air cooled case........:paw:

Nice 25cm side panel fan in a sweet Enermax case ;)
Air isn't all that bad if you have the right cooling.

My, what big fans you have, Sbrehm... :-P
I'd love to try and stick a 140mm fan on the side of my P180 if it wouldn't be a complete mess to install and wouldn't completely ruin the acoustics, as it does a good job of muffling the 7800GT and both chipset fans, even if it kills the air intake to much.
So, are you installing something else into your cube, or are you busy modding the cube out again... there's gotta be a reason for the sudden change, perhaps a case review? ;)

My only complaint is the XFX 7900GT stock cooler, it has to be the loudest thing known to mankind for GPU cooling..................;)
Even the new XFX bios has no effect, oh well, it'll be swtiched out soon enough I guess.

Trying some different things out with the water cooling and I'm also beating around the idea of a Intel system (Pist, don't tell anyone, it's a secret).

cool looking case...
(long as you keep small children and pets out of that side fan:grin: )

Nice case and setup btw ;)

I do like this style of case, my wife has one from Sunbeam Tech (Silent Storm) and my son is using one from Cooler Master (Centurion) and all 3 are basicly the same except for the frontend. They are easy to build and have great quality, I just don't really care for the sideways HD mount all that much. But with the huge side pannel fan it doesn't matter all that much and on the other 2 cases I pulled the HD racks out for better air flow.
The wifes rig:

Whoa, what is that card on the bottom of the mobo that has the funky metal shielding/cover? That looks pretty sweet ;) (like "body armour" for the card :P)

The thing on the bottom is Thermaltakes Tide Water, VGA water all-in-one water cooling for video cards............;)

HEHE exactly what I thought when looking at the pic. Could no longer resist the noisy card eh :)

In terms of the noisy GPU cooler, have you looked at these passive solutions?

Pretty bulky, yes. But with adequate airflow through the case, they put up some impressive numbers (better than the stock cooler at times I think).

I'm looking at Thermalrights new GPU cooler right now, it's either passive or you can use up to a 92mm fan for low noise performance..............;)

Now that looks like a great improvement over the V-1 GPU cooler.
