Maybe XFX Support can suggest a magic driver build # to try... I'd suggest you try DriverCleaner and reinstall at least some set of drivers.

Also, what PSU do you use?

Try the latest v91.47 display drivers.

Dear Hcmake,
Sorry to hear you are having this difficulty. Generally when the screen keeps blanking out and returning is that the monitor is trying to reset the resolution. Try setting the in-game resolution to the same resolution that is native to your monitor (LED) or match the desktop resolution and the game resolution(CRT). If this does not eliminate the issue then do what Kougars suggested and download a fresh copy of the latest drivers from Nvidia then uninstall the current drivers and use a drivercleaner in safe mode before installing the new drivers. Also please check the BIOS and chipset drivers for the mainboard. I have seen this before when the wrong platform drivers were installed on a mainboard. (nForce 4 drivers on an nForce 3 platform). If there are any updates please install them. Finally please make sure that the auxillary power to the video card is not sharing the same dongle as another high demand device like the harddrive.

ok, shall be done exept platform drivers are latest 6.1something NF4
bios is more then latest ... latest is labeled 1009 and mine says 1011

could it help if i switch my 1 rail 12v power to 2 railed 12v power ?
my old reliable ocz is only 1 rail 12v 32A

just bought new cause having other probs too with power maby (random shutdowns not restarts sometimes takes 5 seconds after pressing power up, sometimes it gets to windows before it shuts down ...) have you heard about gfx doing that kind of problem ?

my older power just died but that isnt the reason what the card does ... But if this is a single person problem ?? id say something fischy on the card i opened a ticket already :)
For notice im runing my PC with LCD display(19" 1280x1024) (who wouldent) and if i choose a centered output from nvidia drivers and start playing Fear (max res is 1280 x 960) so it leaves 2 wide black spaces ontop of the screen and the bottom, then it works just fine when leaving the game.

but for that if other can run it without having to do that, that means the card is incomplete from bios right ?

ps. im a baaad writer...

I got the problem fixed... but its still weird if i use direct video output screen goes black when closing application using it.

but still if noone else is having the same problem with the specific video card and game that means my gfx card is broken right :) if anyone here wanna try 7900GFX (normal) FEAR and 1280x960 (the max res) play it for while and then hit esc and quit game :) see what it does. (forceware 91.47 and 91.33)

another reason not to buy nvidia products/xfx customer care is totaly cr*p. I never seen such a slow progress in customer servicing and helping and trying to solve the problem.
Only thing i got from help desk was try without your sound card or change power supply.
took card out and bought a new supply again.
and this got me to solution that the card is still broken.
Whos going to pay the power supply ? me...
Whos still left with the broken card ? me...
atleast few good reasons to avoid these ...

and for thank god i never had a single problem with *ti you know the brand but not gonna advertice it here.

i just want my damn product fixd!

video taken with camera, from my screen after playing FEAR (http://www.saunalahti.fi/mturune/x7900gtx.MOV)

Dear Hcmake,
I have seen your film and I am convinced that this card needs to be serviced. However, you should NOT have been instructed to purchase a new PSU unless that was deemed the source of the fault. Please post your support ticket number here so I can look into your case in the support services and I will get the RMA information to you to get this card in for evaluation.
