Here its mounted with the AC8 fans and side exit wiring,

I can't see anything, I bet you are just looking at the insides of the psu  only thing i can see reflected is the pci-brackets.
Anyhow, good job mark! love it! Bet you have to be a bit careful when cutting the steel psu case though, a 'lil slip and that psu isn't going to like it

I guess great minds think alike ;)
Neat idea the way you have the HD rack mounted; nice green flare to the CM Hyper 6+ and Blue Ice to too ;)

i wana see how u do ur cable manage ment
werty316
10-12-2006, 05:03 AM
Basically you find any tiny crevice in the case to "hide" it. For IDE cables you would "fold" them so they are out of sight.
I can't show you how I would do the cable management in teh Atlas case since I don't have my rig installed in it yet as I stil have a few more small things to do and I am waiting for the clearcoat to fully set. I'll probably install everything by next week.

I wish i could do cable management like that. I mean you cant see mine either but the back of my case dosent look so....nice. Only bad thing about doing your cables like that is you cant upgrade anything if you want to. Whereas if i bought a new HD or DVD-RW i could just unplug and replug back in. Youd have to do some more solder work.
markkleb
10-12-2006, 05:22 AM
Thats a CHEAP/Easy way to manage wires. Those little white blocks (Gibson calls them Sugars) are about $1 each. You screw the wires into them than you connect the ends in whatever you want and you cut the wire to the exact length. That way you dont have to mess with the ends (crimping and fancy tools)

10-12-2006, 05:31 AM
Werty you said you were going RED thats why I did green...
I meant that I did a ATX-to-BTX conversion too ;) I guess you missed that in my post

Is that what its called BTX? All I knew it reminded me of a Lain Li I used to have.

WRONG!!! Its easier to add stuff now PP. You just losen the screws and add whatever wires you want.(no soldering)
When I get a PS I cut the wires short and mount them to the white blocks. Than with the leftover wires I plug them into CD,HDD,Floppy whatever and work backwords. That way no extra wire or mess and no soldering.

Yep that is a BTX style layout as everything is upside down.

Oh well i thought you also solderd your wires hard to the actual drive itself. Where can you get those little white blocks at?
darkorb
10-12-2006, 12:51 PM
its not btx since that is the opposite way of atx mobo, its an inverted/opposite atx design, i think

Any electronics store (like RadioShack) should have them. They come in 8,10 and 12 terminal size and I just cut them to 4 or 5 terminals.
Some come with screws on both ends and they aill work too but I like the "European" version because its all plastic(no shorts) and you dont have to put terminals on the end of the wires.(saves money and time)

You've shown too much. :) Looks really good, but now you can expect the world to imitate your style.
Inverted is different from BTX; so this is a well maintained inverted design. BTX is just as DarkOrb said: opposite. It exhausts out the front and draws from the back.

Wow ill deffinately go to Rack Shack and get some of those plastic things. As to the inverted, its a great idea. You can do that to regular ATX mobos and it looks just like a BTX setup.
werty316
10-13-2006, 02:35 AM
Yes it is not actually BTX but it has a BTX style like I said since the PCI slots are above and CPU socket is below geeze...

Yeah the HD rack is quite sweet and using two 92mm intake fans is better than 80mm fans but would have even more sweet if Antec designed a way to put 2*120mm fans but then again they have the Nine Hundred series cases for that.
how did you bend the plastic for the powersupply... ughhh i like that plastic
markkleb
10-19-2006, 05:29 AM
I used to pay the plastic shop to do it than 1 time I watched them and it was so easy.
To bend plastic I just heat it up with a torch and bend it over a piece of wood,
(not too close with the torch though);-)

Damn that looks too sweet
I had the same idea of putting something at the bottom to cover all the wires and PSU but I was too lazy to do and I didn't see a point since you can't see the inside of my case as there wasn't a window on the "open" side.
wow mark...
i was thinking of flipping the mobo around like that (inverse atx) but to many other people were doing it!!

LOL, so you like it PP? Tell me what you really think...
I origionally bought that cooler for the Crossflow. They are on sale now for about $50, pretty hard to beat for complete H20.
The rad is alum and single core but seems to work fine on my Opty148 (27C idle)
It comes with black rubber hose (looks like a black straw) I put the braided steel to add a little flash. There is a third port on the pump/cpu part and I was gonna run that to a Danger Den fillport but ran out of $$$$ and time.
Antec The Dark has been added to the Bjorn3D folding stable...Go Folders!

Wow man i really like it. It looks so clean with the sleel finish and how its so sleek being H20.

10-23-2006, 06:20 AM
I think they were talking about the Corsair. But for sweet and simple (and $50) this is pretty hard to beat.
I wouldnt use it on a OC monster but for what I need it works well and is VERY quiet.
PP Mguire
10-23-2006, 06:38 AM
Would you use it on a SocketA system?
markkleb
10-23-2006, 05:37 PM
Cory it would be fine on a socket A cpu. I wouldnt use it for multiple stuff, CPU,GPU,Chipset but for a quiet CPU cooler it works very well.
And the Rad is a little smaller than my CoolRads 120 so its easier to fit, it also weighs less and the power plugs into the fan header of the mobo.
You cant get any simpler than that.

10-24-2006, 02:30 AM
can u use it on a core 2 duo cpu??? say e6400??
werty316
10-24-2006, 04:59 AM
Technically you can as the CM Aquagate mini supports LGA775 but I wouldn't recommend it if you plan on OC a Core2Duo chip.
humm, well my zalman 9500led works my 3500+ very well @ 2720mhz... i should put my water cooling rig back together :)

I think he meant he is gonna use a plastic cover on the CM WC'er.
markkleb
10-30-2006, 04:00 AM
Actually I am thinking about making a plastic frame for the Crossflow instead of the alum one.
I was thinking about putting the See-through HDDs standing up in the front (that frees up the space under the mobo for the extra electronics, res and pump for the H20.
I am trying to make the Crossflow as simple as possible (fewest amount of pieces)
Since I built AntecTheDark I have learned to bend plastic(its pretty easy) and am trying to think of a artsy fartsy way to design the frame/backbone of the comp.(kind of a organic design)
PP Mguire
10-30-2006, 06:52 PM
So if i get this right your thinking about making the case for Crossflow plasitc right? Well didnt you already do that?

I was using a alum frame with plastic panels attached. The Crossflow fan is about 12" long and 2" high and 2" deep. Its a metal housing.
What I am trying to do is eliminate the alum frame and the metal housing of the crossflow fan. I am trying to make the case more of a organic shape (trying to eliminate the square corners of a typical comp) and using only plastic for the case.
Tomorrow I have to work on my house but Wed. I will post some picts to show what I am thinking about...

how about making a sphere round it? :-D
Stuffing all the holes etc. in the walls eh mark, couldn't mind seeing how you partially did that already on the background of one of your pics ;)
I am proud of everyone who shares thier thoughts and ideas here. Thank You.
The back of the case appears to be green lexon. I would like to see a picture of the rear of the computer case to help me understand how to mount the lexon back to the connors of the case. It appears to be L brackects and pop riviets.
