I have weird problem, first I'm using X2 3800, GA-M55Plus-S3G, 1x512 DDR 2 , XFX 7600GT XxX and X-Fi XtremeMusic SB0460.
I was using my X-Fi XM with the onboard video geforce 6100 without problems.
I upgraded to XFX 7600GT, and problems begin: freezing on cold boot after leaving the PC off for more than 1 hour. I have to enter safe mode and either "disable" the X-Fi from device manger OR "uninstall graphic" card driver, doing either will make the system to boot normally. Also, sometimes when installing the graphic driver, it will give black screen in the middle of driver installation with blinking cursor, removing or disabling the X-Fi will fix this problem.
I tried MSI and Gigabyte 7600GT and no problems, so WHY the XFX doesn't like my X-Fi ????
Conclusion:
- X-Fi SB0460 + Onboard Video Geforce 6100 = No problem
- X-Fi SB0460 + XFX 7600GT = problem described above
- XFX 7600GT + Onboard sound realtek ALC883 = No problem.
while I was googling my problem, I found someone is having exactly same problem and he is using same mobo ,X-Fi and XFX 7600GT: http://forums.dvdoctor.net/showthread.php?p=267211#poststop
so now I can't use both X-Fi XM and XFX 7600GT XxX, What could be the problem ?
I don't know if XFX can buy/borrow this mobo to make further testing with their 7600GT and X-Fi SB0460.
