I know forums are some times the better way to get help, as companies can be slow with their support.
Here's the deal. I purchased a 6800xt, and I'm getting some serious artifacts and jumpy frame rates in games. Oddly enough, 3d Mark 06 didn't have any artifacts, but ran at a whopping 0-3 frams per second, I topped out at 5 fps...
I've read through lots of sites about performance tweaks and such. The card is completely stock. One place told me it might be overheating, however it idles at 45 degress, and never seen it pass 54 degree's even while running 3D Mark. I upped my AGP apiture size to 256 meg (it was at 128 meg) and from a coupld of forum posts here I even went from the 1.5V on the AGP to 1.7 (for some reason I don't have 1.8...)
I had the NVidia 93.71 drivers released on Nov 2 to start with, went back to the 84 drivers that came with the card and even attempted some 96.xx drivers I found from guru3d in hopes this may just be some driver issue. I'm upgrading from a 6600GT which had no issues at all. I've even upgraded my mobo bios with no luck.
The card is on day 3 of 7 before my return time ends, so I need to determine if there's a fix for this or if the card is pooched.
System Specs:
XFX Geforce 6800xt
AMD Athlon 64 3200+
ASUS K8NE-Deluxe Mobo
Enermax 450w PSU - 20A on 12V rail
2 SATA drivers HD's 1 IDE
Creative Audigy (original)
2 Gig SDRAM (333)
