Ok, I will try to make it quick and easy.

System Spec's
2200+ AMD Athlon XP (1.8GHz)
1024 MB DDR Ram
I used to have a 9600 ATi All-In-Wonder 128 DDR

Now I have GeForce 6200 AGP8x 512DDR2

need less to say my FPS have decreased instead of increased.

Here is a link to a picture i took when i benchmarked it.

http://jb.volrathscastle.com/PerfRes.gif

The Red Bar is with the old ATi card
and the Green Bar is with the new nVidia card.

This is the steps i took to install.

1. Benchmarked current system.
AMD Athlon 2200+ XP (1.8GHz)
1024 MB DDR Ram
128MB DDR ATi All-In-Wonder 9200

2. Uninstalled ALL ATi Drivers and Software

3. Turned Computer Off, Un Hooked All Cables, Grounded Myself To THe Case, Took Out Old Videocard, Put It Back In Old PC.

4. Took Out New Video Card From Packaging, Installed Into New System While Holding Onto The Case To Ground Myself. Screwed In THe Screw.

5. Put Side Back On, Pluged All Wires Back In.

6. Turned On PC. Went Into BIOS Made Sure The Video Card Set Up Was Still On AGP. It Was, So I Saved And Restarted

7. System Started Up, 256 Color and 800x600. So far So good.

8. System Detected New Video Card. "YES" Installed Drivers From CD.

9. Installed. Restarted. 32 bit color and 1280x1024

10. Benchamarked New Card. Umm. Not Good....

11. Drivers Update From nVidia Website. Installed Update, Restarted.

12. Everything works, New drivers installed. Benchmarked.... still the same... Went to XFXforce website downloaded their drivers. Uninstalled the drivers from nVidia and restarted.

13. Installed new drivers. Restarted

14. Benchmarked. Still the same.

15. Started searching around Online for other poeple with a similar problem. Found Nothing...

16. Came Here...

I even tryed it in a game i like to play, the Game was made in 2001 its C&C renegade. now with the old card I would get 45-60 FPS, with the new card I get 10-15... any help would be nice, thanks everyone :-)

Could you please give either the exact model # or the exact card name? Was it an 6200 LE by any chance?

I figured it out. I ended up using the Driver Cleaner Pro and it found alot of ATi Registry files. now everything works great.

but anyway it was this

PV-T44A-YAL3

but like i said, i got it.

You always should uninstall the current display drivers before installing a different brand video card.

Glad to hear you figured it out. Driver cleaner is a great way to ensure your old drivers are completely removed before installing the new driver. Good luck with your gaming.

umm... i did, i went into add/remove programs and took out everything ATi. Little did i know there where registry values at work.

ohh well, it works, only thing i cant figure out is when i benchmark the 2D stuff, its a lower store then the old card...

but thats the only thing i dont understand, but thats not a huge deal, I am still doubling old FPS, and can max out UT2004 and HL2 on a pretty old system with only 1.8GHZ, 1GB DDR RAM, and of course this new video card.

That’s the good thing about Driver Cleaner, even when you uninstall drivers sometimes "traces" of the driver still remain and can cause conflicts. Driver Cleaner finds and removes these "traces" thus resolving conflicts.

Yes I can attest to that, when doing my 8800GTX testing with a couple different versions of the drivers I had problems until using Drive Cleaner.
