I have submitted a ticket with xfx support and have had no response. i was hoping that either someone here on the forums has seen this problem and can help out or that one of the xfx mod's on the forum can get support to respond to my ticket. thanks in advance.

58799 -New problem. Sunday night when going to turn off my computer (it had been on about 6 hours) i was sending an email and the monitor flickered in and out and when a picture was displayed there was no response from the keyboard or mouse. Basically it wasnt registering the movement of either device as the saved draft of my email message recorded my key presses. The montior just wasnt showing them. I rebooted the system to see if it was just a fluke and havent been able to get back in to Windows since. When the bios testing appears there are groups of red dots in vertical lines all over the monitor probable ten groups of 6 dots in a random pattern, when it moves on the Windows loading screen the dots change to green, finally when it switchs over to the windows xp welcome screen i get no picture at all just red dots in square patterns. Probably 6 dots x 6 dots and in between the dots is filled in with other dots. ALL red... I cant even begin to think about trying to login as i cant see anything. The problem is worse when using DVI. Analog the welcome screen appears. So i automatically assumed it was the monitor and i have put the monitor through its paces. I have tried both dvi connections on the card, i switched to a analog cable input to the monitor the errors are still occuring. I wanted to rule out the monitor entirely so i took it to work and have tried it on a work machine using DVI. No problems picture is perfect with no red dots (pixels). I now believe it is the card. I have extra card i will try when i get home from work but i wanted to send this so you could offer some insight prior to that time. Thoughts?

So that is what has been submitted to XFX. Anybody have any opinions on this?

Maybe your card is overheating??? These artifacts/dots sound to me like an overheating problem? I have a bad feeling that something is faulty with your card? I really hope I'm wrong and the card isn't damaged? :???:

Just keep visiting XFX site, as I also contacted them several times and sometimes it takes them 2-3 days to reply, but I'm pretty sure they'll get back to you soon.

Anyway, if it's really a faulty card we're talking about, just RMA it (if you have the warranty, of course).

I have heard/read too many problems like you're describing on the 7900GT series. Luckily, as a PROUD owner of TWO XFX 7900GT, I don't have any problems with them so far...

So...GOOD LUCK and keep us updated...:???:

I checked the ticket and it appears that we have been in pretty consistent contact with you since the beginning. But at any rate it also looks like you were issued an RMA already as well. Please follow the RMA instructions give so we can get your issue resolved and you can get back to gaming. Thanks

So it seems you asked for RMA afterall. At least you can count on XFX people that they will give you a good service and another card, hopefully, this time a good one!!!

GOOD LUCK!
