Hello everyone, i'm desperate, i just bought this XFX Geforce 7900GT today and i had to start reading diffrent forums to figure that this 100% speed fan was actualy working as intended. The sound is driving me nuts i have to flash the bios to slow it down.

The model is PV-T71G-UCF7 i downloaded this bios
http://www.bjorn3d.com/pafile/index.php?act=view&id=47

Befor i flash this i want to make sure i dont mess things up so i would like somone to explain to me how to backup my old bios, specialy after reading http://bjorn3d.com/forum/showthread.php?t=10939 i'm not even sure this is worth attempting.

Also is this going to kill my waranty? if i knew about this fan issue i would never have bought the carde in the first place. I'm realy dissapointed atm i don't know what to do i'm not a computer wis.

N.M: i did it finaly using the bios above and some info on how to backup the old one just incase, the fan is quiet finaly and everything's working great sofar

Glad to hear, or rather not hear it Pepsi... Also those BIOS files were provided by XFX for exactly this reason, it won't void your warranty.;)

Yep we are an XFX partner and stuff we supply comes straight from them.

It's glad to hear you managed to do it without problems. I've also done it pretty easily to my 7900GTs!!!

It was the first thing I did with my cards, even before testing them... Because the noise they made when they worked at 100% speed was UNBEARABLE, like a BIG Vacuum Clear inside my case.

At least we can be happy that XFX provided a working BIOS fix, quite fast!!! That's what I call service...and a GOOD one!!!
