Oh, I already knew it was the biggest retail shopping day in the US, I just didn't know that gave it a name. The rock I was under was the USMC, and holidays were spent on deployment or duty, for almost eight years.

rant/ Black friday is an excuse to jack up prices and put on "sales" so they are the same price so your still paying the same. I was at Wal Mart last night and they had raised the price on bread to 1.95 for Great Value plain white. WTF? They had raised the price of the LCD i want to about 1300 only so they can put on a sale and make it go back down to 700 where it used to be. Sheesh, and the American Public falls for it. HAHAHAHAH. /rant

2GB Sandisk flash drive for $14 doesn't sound like a jacked price to me... ;) Someone else was offering a 52" rear projection HDTV for under $500... as long as you don't mind dealing with rebates, it's a good deal.

Ten years as a Navy Corpsman here, I know first hand that it was a hell of a rock you were under. At least you made it out from under it!

Rear projection sucks though compared to LCD and Plasma. The TV i want was originaly 700, they then jacked up the price t-day to 1300 and put it on sale back for 700 on friday. (Just got back from Wal Mart to see if i was right). I was at Wal Mart at 4:30 in the morning t-day with my family doing our usual grocery shopping. I saw the price jack up. The only give the good deals to the things they wanna get rid of cheap.

Wow dug up my old thread for this year :) Another happy Turkey Day to you guys. It snowd!! First time since 1993 here in the metro that it snows on Thanksgiving.
