COH and BF2 Problems

these 2 are completely unrelated in means of their problems (or so i think)

My friends coh freezes during startup, it just completely freezes during the press any button screen, and he cant tab out or anything, it eventually locks up his entire computer.

Same thing happens with battlefield2, when he clicks login, it says "connecting" or w/e and it just freezes like that


he is freaking out, any help would be amazing.
he has tried reinstalling the game/reinstall the vid drivers/dual core optimizer/spyware scan/close all running programs

If his video card is overclocked, he needs to back it down. If it's not, then he should start testing RAM with MemTest 86+, and if RAM passes at least five tests then the video card might be an issue.

yer sam as Das said it siound like that or driver conflicts, has he tryed to do a propper driver unistall like with driver clean pro or something then reinstall the latest stuff

also check out if he is a grot bug and has a pc full of dust that will skyrocket any temps when stressed.

people that leave their pc's on the carpet have a lot of dust problems.
