I know I know. For Americans this is nothing special but for a tiny country as Sweden it's cool that we finally also have a Swede up in the sky.
Fugelsang was supposed to go up 14 years ago but due to the various problems with the Shuttles + other countries paying money to get ahead in the que :) it took until last night before he finally went up to space.
Go Sweden :)!!

I wanted to say something funny about Swedish astronauts but...
... well I guess there's nothing funny about Swedish astronauts. :)
But what is he going to do out in space? Open a coffee shop? Bet the NASA guys would love that. On the other hand, astronauts like to be high. :)

I was holding out hope Mats Sundin would be the first Swede in space. Then the Leafs would truly be awful.
Look!
Up in the sky!
It's a bird!
It's a plane!
No, it's a Swede?
Børk! Børk! Børk!

I heard he's bringing a traditional Swedish christmas dinner up with him for the crew. Wonder how they managed to package it?

No, they got IKEA to provide the lingonberries and gravey and Knor to freezedry the meatballs.
Maybe SAAB is trying to build spacecraft now and needed to test how Swedes do in ZERO gravity. lol
