Guys im hoping to write some reviews for some sites about older not as new pc parts like my x1900xt and my e6400 when the pc comes, what games could i benchmark the best with? i have many games and wish to use them could you guys give me some examples?

A great start would be to read through the reviews here at Bjorn3d, as well as a few other popular sites, and observe the pattern. For video cards, the GeForce 8800 roundup we did here on our site is a great source for benchmark tests.

That's a good idea, a lot of reviewers use the same test programs, so you could just do the same. You can add up your own ideas as well, talk about things you judge are important you normally don't see reviewed, etc.

yes i see oblivion, source series, fear and quake are popular games for benchmarking, thanks for the suggestions guys
EDITL ill most probably benchmark using HL2 and CSS they seem pretty fair at testing theyre not as much of performance hogs as quake or oblivion at least

Except that the HL engine is optimized more for ATI branded cards rather than NVidia... You should include more games/applications to get more fair results...

interesting fact i never knew about, then ill probably inclue quake and fear too
