Just a little something I've been assing the time with. I sort of gutted the lower HD bay area and made a simple bracket to locate a small 120 radiator in the lower front. I placed the res and pump in the bottom as well to keep the MoBo area as open as possible...........;)

I can't wait to read your review on the case as that Swiftech P180 Watercooled case looks mighty fine but cramped for space.

You really made that bracket yourself? nice work man!

It is a bit on the cramped side, I had wanted to run a dual 3/8" loop with a dual 120 radiator on the rear of the case with dual 350/355 pumps, but I'm not sure I'm going to be able to fit it all in there. The PSU cables in their current location take up a lot of space.

The radiator bracket is a combination of one that was there and a radiator mounting plate that I cut. I had to mate them both together and then mod the bracket to match the radiator opening and the case.

looks pretty clean :)

Thanks, I'm fairly pleased with it so far, I just need to do something with the front bezel, it's way to restrictive. The door it's self isn't as bad as you might think, there's a lot of side vents that let in a lot of air. The problem is with the pop open inlet/filter doors, when I open them (filters removed) the temps drop on a average of 2c or more depending on room temp. I'm thinking about opening them up and installing a bit of mesh............:)

Bah 2c isn't much. Do you get different temps with the filters installed and not installed with the door closed?

I haven't checked with the filter yet, normally I never use them anyway, but if I get some extra time, I'll check.
I did a little closer checking of the differance in temps with the doors open and closed, logged all of them at different setting, here's a small example:

Card at stock settings. Room at 74F (24c).
GPU temps, front door open:
Idle - 31c
Load - 38c

GPU temps, front door closed:
Idle - 34c
Load - 42c

So with a bit closer testing, there is a greater differance, I think it's time for a bit more modding..........;)

Damn I never thought the front door was that restrictive  wow

Yup, those little filter doors don't let much of anything through at all...........:frown:

I watched the video review of this case but those fan filters look like the reason for teh temperature difference for sure.

I would replace those for a mesh filter for sure or better yet, a ghetto fan filter, panyhose

I don't use filters as a rule normally, I just have to clean my case and radiator a little more often.........;) Heck, I even cut out the factory fan guards..........., I want the least restriction possible.

Nicely done, sbrehm! :jawdrop:

I always enjoy to see you work!!!

Sometimes I regret that I've given up on watercooling as it is soooo fun...:frown:

But hey, it's never too late, maybe I'll get back to deal with it sometime...

Keep us updated! ;-)

There not as restrictive as the stock filter doors: http://www.bjorn3d.com/forum/attachment.php?attachmentid=394&d=1166996174

Well, I modded the lower door just to see how well it would come out and how well it would work..........:jawdrop: . Now it cools just as if the lower door was open and I think it came out half way OK as well, good enough for people to look at anyway.

Looking good and that mesh is much better and less restrictive than the crappy plastic vents.

Thanks, now just to get around to doing the other one. ...............;) I might have to paint the front of the chassis under the bezel black so you don't see the gray frame under the mesh.

Dang, you're going to make me start modding this case after all... :-P That looks professionally done, as usual ;)

I completely missed this thread, but those doors are designed to pop right out and back in for cleaning under a faucet. Antec designed those things to dampen noise escaping the case, instead the restricted airflow just makes more noise than it blocks so I finally popped both doors off and put the filters back on.

looking nice sbrehm! If I hadn't seen the before pic I would have thought you bought it this way (no kidding!)

wow looks like a tight fit, but its always better than an external!!

good with the 120, i have similar with an 80 and it just isn't big enough to be cool and quiet

Bio-Hazard

The 120 seems to be dooing a pretty fair job keeping thing cool even at a moderate OC. But I do plan on convertint it into a dual radiator setup and maybe a dual loop setup if I can get my but in gear to do a few more little mods.

Small update, I made a 1/2" shroud for the fan and switched out the fan for a rheostat controlable Thermaltake. Sure makes it easier to change the fan speed this way.

Nice job, as usual... ;)

You should go into business retrofitting those front air intake panels... I got two I could send you...

LOL.......It wouldn't be all that much work with the right tools, but with just a dremel, it's takes a lot of time to do just one. That's why I still haven't done the second one yet.
