My son has been playing this, and I got to mess with it a bit myself.

First let me give my impression although most of you have it or have played it.

Holy $#%, this @#$ing game is a #$#damn blast. If is the coolest RTS I've seen. It appears thier is a lot of depth to how you can play out each battle.
For Graphics and Gameplay that I've seen thus far it rates two thumbs up.

Now I must mention the need to take away cool points. I realize it is rated M and it does list language but why do they feel the need to go to the extent they did? I don't feel it in any way adds to the realism or gameplay to constantly have the units drop the F-bomb and continuously have them shouting GD this and GD that. Personaly I think it takes away and distracts from the actual experience.

I guess I don't understand why the developers of this game decided that carrying the language to the extreme they did was needed. I'm not some potty mouth little kid that thinks spouting off obsenities makes me cool or sailor trying to fit in and act badass. Call me niave and tell me I'm missing the boat if you want, but those rap songs don't have this much foul language. Blood and guts is one thing drawn out on the screen and makes for good entertainment. That I can deal with, but I still can't understand why a software developer would think that much language is required for an awesome game.

For the much overused language the game loses its 2 thumbs up. Unless I can find a patch for the sound files that contain all the obsenities this one may end up on Ebay. Shame because this game is quite frankly the most visualy apealing RTS I've ever seen, and the total destruction of everything on the screen makes it the best I've played to date.

We haven't played Civ 4 yet, but after hearing the complete overuse of obsenities in COH I'm sure this will be better suited for us to play.

I think because it's realistic, and from my perspective it does add to the gameplay. First time I heard the f-word was when I was stringing quite a bit of wire all over one section of a map, and the same squad of engineers doing all the wire work started complaining about only doing more wire work.

My only issue would be the violence. It's a violent game, and after the DX10 patch I expect it to get a heck of alot more gory. Realistic or not, that does tend to border a little to close for me. Don't get me wrong, I think it's a great game. In my respectful opinion, I would have issue with the violence/gore long before the language if I was going to pick my top issue with the content.

Never been in combat, but I can only imagine that the F-bombs fly rather profusely. Hard to re-create a realistic war game without violence or language I would think.

Some guy getting his leg blown off is fine but hearing him scream about it isn't? Hmm.... I guess he should just say "ouch" and go off somewhere to die where no one can hear him lament his loss.

Sorry man, I don't share your concern about this game. I've never understood how people can not complain about violence but they complain about language. You have no problem with playing a game where people are being gunned down and blown to pieces but if they happen to voice their displeasure with some words you've chosen not to like it's a big no-no by the developer. Dismemberment is great but not a naughty word. They're usually the same people that will go watch an R rated bloodfest movie and come home to complain about the nude scene they had in it. Blood and guts, fine. Beauty of the human body, oh no, can't have that anywhere.

Gibson, I don't know how old your son is, but the game is rated M for 17+, so perhaps the language is not suitable for younger gamers. Of course, the first time you play online, someone is going to use language much worse then the games own. Thankfully though, their is a profanity filter built into the online interface.
