Hai guys,

I just wanted to sujest that if your licence of vBulliten is leased, that you should use another, free one called "MyBB" rather than getting another yearly licence. www.mybboard.com . It has many features of vB, unlike phpBB, but is totally free.

Interesting. Will check it out. One reason we use VBulletin now is that is has a very good backend which makes it easy to add plugings and modify it directly from the admin-area. Updating something like phpBB was horrible when you had modified it and in some cases could take several hours. VBulletin is much better in that regards.

But I will check it out!

OK, n/p. The current version, MyBB 1.2 has a very powerful AdminCP, but itsn't as organized as some people want it. They plan to fix that in MyBB 1.4, which should be commong out in a few months. :) One thing I like about it, is that it has a really nice system for template and theme editing, and a good plug-in system. The only cons I see is that there anr't as many modifications for it compaired to vB, since their community isn't as big. Also, when 1.4 comes out, there could be problems with the current plug-ins on 1.4. So, I reccomend that you take a look at it, and then see if you like it. If you do, then see how 1.4 is, and then upgrade. :)

Regards

P.S. If you want, you can take a look at the admincp on my site. :) Just PM me to make an account.

I use VBulletin on my board as well. I have tried phpBB, MyBB, SMB, IPB Free, YaBB and frankly found that they just did not stack up to the quality and power of VBulletin. I liked VB so much I paid the $160 for the perpetual license as well as the yearly ($30) support renewals.

I haven't regretted that decision.

I am trying this on my webserver, which is currently hosting just little bits of this and that. The admin panel is easy to nav which is a bonus :). The only issue I have with it is a cosmetic one with the way stickies and announcements are placed in the forum.

In most forums I have used they have the sticky with a pin or a (sticky) next to them. This one makes a seperate section, which I personally think looks tacky.

Apart from that they are great, and I might consider switching over the phpbb forums with that.
