Triple Play physics just around the corner
More information about ATI's long-awaited physics processing is finally trickling into light. ATI has named its GPU accelerated physics processing Asymmetric Physics Processing.
Hardware requirements for Asymmetric Physics Processing include two AMD ATI Radeon based graphics cards and a compatible CrossFire motherboard. One Radeon may be used as a GPU with an additional Radeon acting as a physics processor. The requirement for three Radeons to complete physics processing is only a requirement of Triple Play operation.

So there's something I can do with my father's comp having an RD482 mobo and an X1600Pro : Use a dual-GPU single card for rendering, and the X1600Pro for physics.

Some users wondered why the RD600/680i boards have three full PCI-E slots and thought it could be triple Crossfire/SLi but that is an obvious no; those who didn't keep up to date on hardware can now know why there are three PCI-E slots.
I laugh so hard when people say triple Crossfire/SLi :dielaffin:

I'm just waiting for nvidia to come out with the drivers for their physics. I have a slot in my EVGA 680i mobo just waiting for a card to be put in for some physics processing.

Yeah all those old GPUs should come in handy for all the physics processing.

I found it funny when people were saying the 2 Sli connectors on the 8800GTX was for Tri/Quad Sli
But then they didn't believe anyone when they told them they were wrong :frown:

Well, there is your problem :) You could run dual psu's though
