“GT” version of the Apogee takes the product line to yet another performance level

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Lakewood , CA – Monday January 15th, 2007 12:00 AM Pacific Standard Time- Rouchon Industries, Inc. dba Swiftech™ today announced the release of the new Apogee GT water-block. While both water-blocks look exactly alike, the “GT” features an optimized Diamond Pin Matrix structure which the company claims will yield performance improvements ranging from 1°C and up to 3°C at 100W depending on the CPU's, with Intel's latest QX6700 quad core processors benefiting the most from the revised structure. Swiftech also announced that all its water-cooling kits will now be shipped with the Apogee GT version. “While the enhancements represent a natural progression in our Diamond Pin Matrix Technology, the real challenge was in manufacturing. I am glad to report that not only did we improve on the performance of the product, but we were also able to boost our production capacity to an industrial level unmatched in the history of our Company; this will no doubt please our OEM partners and kicks off 2007 with high expectations of success for the year” said Gabriel Rouchon Swiftech's Chairman & CTA.

There's also a new one out from D-Tek that sort of split the contest results during the CES show last week. There aren't any offical reviews out on the 2 as for yet, but they should be some out before to much longer I would expect.

Oye! Split the contest results, you mean that Swiftech contest where they dared anyone to try and top their waterblock?? I'm behind on my CES reading, if you hadn't already figured! ;)

So, which one do you think is better, just offhand?

That's really hard to say.....I haven't ready the complete results myself either..............:) But from the little bit I read, the D-Tek block soundly beat the Swiftech on during the first round and the guy that entered it was awarded the prize. Then Swiftech ran the tests over again and the new Swiftech block won, so who knows if they had a bad mount or what the problem was. I don't think you can go wrong with either of the new bolcks, or the old APOGEE for that matter.
You should maybe hold off a bit longer if you can though as Danger Den is supposed to be releasing a new block and OCZ has a very interesting block that they are working on that's supposed to be out shortly.

Hah, I guess I'll be getting watercooling about the same time I get a DX10 card at this rate! Thanks for the info though, I definitely would want to know that and will wait until they are launched and are sorted out a bit.

Interesting bit about the contest though, did Swiftech keep the block or did they award the prize before moving on to round 2 for the retest? I guess you'll have plenty of review material for the next few months... ;)
