Excerpt: "For this project I have selected the FOXCONN NVIDIA GeForce 8800 GTS as my test subject, which I reviewed here at Bjorn3D back in November 2006 (http://www.bjorn3d.com/read.php?cID=1004). Presently, the 640MB version of the GeForce 8800 GTS is the second-best video card available on the market. Gamers and computer enthusiasts alike have already speculated on how the GTS could be made to perform to the same level as the GeForce 8800 GTX with some tweaking. Unfortunately, this just isn't possible. What is possible though is taking a great product and making it even better; and do it all for free."

Yes, you can use ATI Tool to save your overclock profile. ATI Tool can then be configured to start with Windows and load the overclock profile, and then close itself if you wish.
Drawbacks are that you must disable this when you change graphics cards as it is easy to forget about. Also since it's done via drivers it will never offer quite the stability the BIOS overclock will present. Additionally I do not believe ATI Tool supports shader clock overclocking, only RAM and Core clock modifactions.

Howdy,
"1200mhz" is the default shader clock speed for a GTS card :) For a 8800GTX "1350mhz" is the default shader clock speed. Olin was simply setting the card to reference shader clock speeds as it was factory clocked slightly under the 1200mhz speed.

great review and information.
I was kinda skeptical and didn't know much about overclocking, but you've given me lots of info and what to use.
This will probably be my Vid Card too so... I'm glad
