" NVIDIA DECIDED TO launch its mainstream cards in the second part of April, thus leaving CeBIT dry from all the news that was supposed to happen. But, as usually happens, we saw several R600 G84 and G86 boards, alongside tons of unreleased chipsets from Intel and Nvidia. But, that's beside the point. In this article we are going to disclose the looks of GeForce 8600GTS, 8600GT and 8500GT. The 8500GT is based on G86-300 rev A2, while G84 powered 8600 boards. "

" NVIDIA IS HOLDING onto the release of its 8800 Ultra card until it can spoil the launch of the ATI X2900 (R600) series.

That well known source, Mr Internet Rumour has suggested that the 8800 Ultra could go for a staggering $999. Other members of Mr Rumour's extended family have nonetheless suggested that the 8950 GX2 is more likely to make an appearance, being two 8800s strapped together with a bridge chip.

However, given the problems Nvidia is having making SLI work under Vista, this seems like it may be more of a longer-term play.

The rumour of a spoiler release from Nvidia suggests that it already knows that 8800 GTX will be beaten in the benchmarks by the top-end R600, which is why it is pushing out an even faster version. Given that not even the most demanding Vista games on the market today even come close to taxing an 8800 GTX, just how fast is fast enough? "

I guess he never heard of the search button.

Also The INQ mentioned that the G84/G86 will be delayed (http://www.theinquirer.net/default.aspx?article=38500) due to some bugs and might not make it to its April 17th release date.

The 8500GT reminds me of the old X550 cards from ATi. Crappy little fan on a small pcb.
