Alright, I have a SB Live!, and it shows up in vista as EMU10K1 audio processor.

With the XP drivers on the disk it works fine, but the bass and treble settings are fubar, and if i touch the sliders to try and correct them all hell breaks loose and i have to reinstall the drivers.

With a few different drivers I found online that contain the emu10k1 apu for vista, they all sound like complete SH!T. I change some options around and then they sound a little bit better then the XP drivers, but then after a bit it starts breaking up and getting all scrambled.

wtf...am I stuck with this crap? anyone know of fixes?

The vista drivers I have been trying are for the X-Fi series, but they contain an .inf for the emu series as well.

My brother has a SB Live! and i think it might be 24-bit series, would you think that would work better?

Creative mentioned their won't be any Vista drivers for their LIVE! lineup so like me, you are stuck with what you have.

You could however try these Creative modded drivers here (http://www.ngohq.com/home.php?page=Files&go=cat&dwn_cat_id=20).

Have you tried them yet?

The hard drive I had Vista installed on crapped out on me so I couldn't try them out. I would consider those drivers try at your own risk.

Yah, I'm running TRU Forceware drivers atm, so I know all about the try at my own riskyness business....

These drivers were a no-go, it's the same version I pulled out of the X-fi driver package :frown:

I found something else on hte NGO site that might work, I'll post it if it does.

If not I'm going to have to swap my brothers card....that's not going to be easy either....ungreatful lil...gr...

EDIT: BINGO! these drivers work GREAT! linkedy: here (http://www.techiedownloads.com/downloads/Creative%20SBLive%20Remix%20Update%20Patch%202006. exe)

It's an XP driver, that much I can tell, but it works wonderfully, the bass isn't distorted to sh!t now! :D sounds great, hope this helps anyone in the same boat as me!

Id rather have no driver problems, a completely stable OS, and better performance instead of DX10 which i cant use right now, and a pretty Aero theme which i wouldnt use anyways ;) Priorities first to me over themes and having the "new" thing. When SP1 comes out for it and it promises to be better i will get Ultimate.

Exactly, why use a flashy visual style when it eats up valuable resources?
