That is a really, really low CPU score. Infact I'd guess it was a single AMD core or some Netburst derivative chip... an E6300 scores about 1,650pts, which would have given the 3dmark06 score a push to reach 6,000.

Yep, it's a single core CPU.If u look at the 3D Mark 2003 screenshot carefully ( right side of the picture ), u can notice that the CPU used in this is a Athlon 64 3000+ .

Ah, nice catch. I had ignored the 3dmark03 screenie... Since a Core 2 Duo would have at least raised the score to 6k, I think it's safe to say now that the 8600GTS will be par for a 7950GT or 7900GTX. :)

I got more 3dmarks with a 7950GT and a 3000+ when i was messin around with one.
