I've seen the demo video. Looks good for a desktop-rendered CG but it still does not compare to a rendering farm. In farm-rendered CG Ruby's would look a lot less glossy (like animated plastic). We're getting there, but there is still a way to go yet.
In any case don't expect to see games with this level of detail for another 5-10 years though.

Bah, those screenshot don't show much if nothing.
Don't and nothing in the same sentence = double negative, therefore that sentence = "Bah those screenshot do show much if everything." LOL for the offtopic, but it does look fairly good, but like it has been said, it is nice and all but WHERE ARE THE D@MN CARDS? @

ZZF - $399 - cheap imo...

I think the 2900, if benchies are close to 8800gtx, will sell really well because of everyone going to the new p35 from intel will buy this vid cards (and the p35 initially looks to overclock really well too). And if it overclocks well and then beats the 8800gtx, it will sell out quickly...
Personaly - Ive only owned nvidia but sick of the driver problems so Im ready to make the jump if both the p35 and 2900 clock and overclock really well.

This 2900XT is listed for 421.99 at ZZF, says that they are in stock. I wouldn't buy one yet though, as pre-release info I've seen has it about tied with the 8800GTS and the GTS is a heck of a lot cheaper.

As of right now, I'm still wanting a 8800GTS 640 for my next upgrade.........that's after my Quad core..........:jawdrop:

$419 is a bit expensive. $399 is better as it is around most 8800GTS. $350 would be even better. Dont forget though it comes with the Black Box from Valve. To me personally that adds at least $50 of value to the card.
And as you now have seen, it is basically the same league as the 8800GTS.

I don't think I'd pay $400 for one right now GTS 640's can be found for as low as $330 after rebates. The GTS is a much better deal and better card IMHO after seeing just how hot and the high power useage the ATi card has.
