For a while this program was working great and then all of a sudden I got this error message from Vista Home Premium 32-bit:

The Kernel Mode Driver does not seem to be running
A device driver is required for communication with your video hardware
If you just upgraded from an older version it may help to
uninstall AtiTool, reboot and then install a the new version.

I did just that and next thing you know, I got a blue screen. I rebooted in safe mode and it says that it found the driver. Then I rebooted in Normal Mode and right when vista was about to hit the desktop I got a black screen with this error:

Operating System Not Found

I used the Vista Repair on the DVD and got everything up and running again. I then uninstalled ATITool 0.27b and tried Ntune 5. Ntune is not allowing me to actually change clock rates on the my 8800 GTX XXX (BTW it says that optimal clock is 598 for the core and 1000 for memory; what the hell?). Coolbits didn't do anything at all.

So, I need some help. What do I have to uninstall and what do I have to reinstall? Oh, and, FYI, my xfx 8800 gtx xxx will not operate properly without underclocking it; so, you can see, that I really need something to fix this 'new' problem.

If your XFX card isn't running properly and you must underclock it for it to work, then I suggest you start a trouble ticket to get a working card. There is no shortage of factory overclock cards that can't handle the overclocking, but XFX has been pretty good about replacing them when they are found.

You might try a reinstall of ATI Tool, I only got that error once before when upgrading graphics drivers, which broke ATI Tool for me until I reinstalled it. If it still doesn't work, then I'm afraid that version of ATI Tool is a "beta" build of ATI tool 26 for a reason.
