Pioneer or Blaupunkt would be better.

Correct me if I am wrong, but electronics in the car are DC current based... what comes out of the wall outlet is AC current. Before you even try anything you better check to find out if those speakers will require an AC/DC converter to be powered. Again I could be wrong here though.

I think he just means the speakers themselves. If you want, get a stereo or home unit and plug them up to it. PLug your PC into it and your fine. I did the same with PA speakers.

Okay, well my idea was right, but I just showed I have no grasp of how audio speakers function. Everything in a car runs off DC current, including the radio... however the radio converts the audio signal to AC so the speakers would run fine on AC current in a house. The car stereo wouldn't though.

Ya, he can use those @ his home too.He just needs to buy an 12 volt Amplifier or an 12 volt AC to DC adapter to drive/power the speakers.

Na, he wouldn't just for the speakers. Speakers cannot function on a DC current, they are the exception to the rule. Any audio equipment is going to be outputting AC signals to them no matter where they came from.

Yea all speakers are the same. Its just the radio you plug them into that can be different.

hm, sounds more complicated then i first thought, ill try the speakers in a hifi, and see how they sound. will they be able to just pluge into the audio port, or will the need a seprate power source as well?

They will need a power source. You need some type of amp for speakers to work. Like a radio has the speaker ports on the back, and a home stereo does too. Or like your car radio has the speaker ports on the back too.
