Monitor Calibration

I keep looking for that "perfect" widescreen LCD and I just started to read some threads on monitor calibration. What is calibration supposed to do? Is it something worth considering if you are just playing games because it looks expensive?

It tunes ur monitor to give u the most suitable contrast,brightness & RGB levels so that u can enjoy a better flicker free clear image/video that will not also harm ur eyes.Ya, i think it should be done.I prefer using Displaymate or 3Deep.
