I am thinkin about gettin a second 8800gts, pending the quality of the R600, b/c if the R600, is good my 8800gts, may die, and get replaced at Futureshop, and than I could crossfire those cards, or do I grab a second 8800gts?

Or you wait, since that card can prolly run any game you throw at it right now maxed :)

Unless you can magically go into the future and get your hands on a few DX10 games, I wouldn't consider it since a 8800GTS is already fast.

I am sorry, but I don't support ruining good hardware to exploit any warranty. That is BS that has real consequences on not only the retailer, but everyone else when they are forced to raise prices and offer a lower quality warranty to their customers.

I thought you were joking the first time, but you repeatedly keep mentioning doing this in your posts.

Man Save your money.
You can always buy another 8800 in 6 months.

Unfortunatly you may have to pay like $200.00 less then you did for your first one.

It's up to you.
I say save your money.

Here's the funny thing, I only paid like $250 CAD for my current one, brand new, with a 3 year over the counter exchaneg if anything goes wrong

Man, you gotta hook up fellow Canadians with your prices on hardware ;)

That said, I'd wait it out. No point in getting a 2nd card right now... patience is a virtue. There is no need to purchase a 2nd 8800GTS at the moment, if only for "bragging rights", which would not be a smart decision IMO.

True, I will wait until there is a need for sli, than I may also go with the R600 pending, its quality, but ye, I ahree, and the price on the video cards, was an error in the system, thats howcome I got it for that much

You can modify the 975x chipset for SLI, or if I win a mobo, I might be able to that way

By using hacked SLi drivers.
