EggXpert is the new official forum area for Newegg

Online retailer of computer hardware and accessories Newegg.com is putting its latest venture square in the hands of the PC enthusiast community. Earlier this month, Newegg quietly launched its own community site called EggXpert.com with a forums section and blogs for its users.

Currently in an open beta stage, EggXpert describes itself as “an extensive and easy-to-use online tech community designed specifically for PC & consumer electronics enthusiasts like yourself.” Users can interact with each other via online forums, blogs and regular interactive events.

EggXpert likely realizes that a good portion of Newegg customers are PC do-it-yourself types, and have opened a forum dedicated to the DIY crowd and even overclockers. Appropriately, situated right below the overclockers’ area is a forum dedicated to helping with hardware troubles.

Unlike many other hardware enthusiast forums on the Internet, EggXpert does not have an area dedicated for its members to buy, sell and trade their computer goods. In place of a traditional marketplace section are forums where users can discuss and inform each other of hot deals, even if they aren’t products from Newegg.com

Since the site’s launch in early April, the forum has amassed over 5,500 members who have contributed to 2,444 threads and 3,674 posts.

Neweggs new little site looks cool. Some of the stuff in the deals sections is pretty good and some are a bit interesting like the free samples of a rubber like material.
