Excerpt: "If you're looking for above average performance, consider GeIL's PC2-6400 DDR2 2GB Ultra kit and forget about running short on memory. Coupling it with overclocked Core 2 Duo / AM2 platform these memory modules will bring you plenty of joy while not hurting your wallet."

Thanks for a great review.
I love GEIL i think they make some great RAM
i was surprised to see that they have such low Voltage level 2.1v
They usually Voltage hungry

Yea very low. The other model features 2.3v. The max OC was ok I guess

You think is it a chip problem or somthing the GEIL PCB?

I've only bought GeIL ram once, and had problems with it being detected by a few different motherboards. I guess they've improved since then :icon_tiphat:

Searching the net reveals that those Elpida chips don't like high voltages.

Thanks for the info
I wonder why GEIL has gone with chip???

If you read the review (I believe last page), I mentioned that depending on the time period GeIL either uses Elpida, Samsung or Micron chips. You might have 2 exact same products, but they may be using different IC. The pity of it all is there is no way to tell which chip your modules carry, unless you rip the heatspreader apart though you don't want to do that as those are very fragile.

I must have missed that line, sorry
SO in theory one stick can get higher voltages the other.

Once stick can OC higher than the other. As for voltages it depends on your motherboard.

Please do the Ram bandwidth tests on a Athlon 64 or Opteron. 5500-5700 for DDR2 ALU and FPU test is terrible and an injustice to GEIL. I'm seeing 7000-8000 on economy boards and 8000-11100 on DFI with OC tweekings. Your Cache tests are through the roof which is good and makes up for the real loses. I doubt that other tests such as gaming will be affected either due to the C2 Architecture. BTW, another great review.

Thanks for the comment. Tests were performed on C2D platform and these two tests do seem quite low. I'm guessing it has more to do with the CPU clock itself than the RAM.
