Excerpt: "Today it is our extreme pleasure to share with you our findings on a 680i LT SLI motherboard that is being marketed by an NVIDIAŽ partner that certainly needs no introduction, XFX. From our rather extensive experience reviewing XFX Graphics solutions we've seen their corporate philosophy transcend from merely words into a series of excellent, highly polished digital wonders that go a step beyond in not only performance but quality as well. We highly anticipate that our review sample, the XFX nForceŽ; 680i LT SLI will continue to follow this same lofty tradition. "

Wow, this is a nice motherboard, it is really nice too that it is possible to win this motherboard in this months contest. Hopefully I will be the lucky one so I could use my SLI cards in 16x.

No it is not, only the thead I believe. He did the same thing on the January contest, if you still remember, because there were different arguments going on that wasn't about the contest. So the contest is still there, just the thread is closed.

yourock:Miles!
Great Review, thanks for a very detailed and interesting reading.
The 680LT is a blessed addition to the 680 family.

Very nice review Miles.Hope to win the board too.On the first picture of the board, there's no Nvidia sticker on the fan over the SPP but on the 2nd picture there's an Nvidia sticker on the fan.Does that board bundle that Nvidia sticker ?

Yes, the SPP cooler has an NVIDIA sticker on the fan, the second picture is a generic picture out of the XFX manual with all the various pieces and parts listed. Not sure why they portray it without a sticker; but both fans (SPP and Southbridge) have the NVIDIA sticker on them.

I agree with you. I have a Pentium 4 3.4, but it is getting outdated a lot, because of the Single-Core processor. Also I have two 7800GT's right now and they are running at 8X since my motherboard does not run at 16X in SLI. If I could get my hands on this board, I could use it in 16X and get a Core 2 Duo 6600.

First off, good review Miles.......;) The bord seems to be a good performer and seems to OC fairly well, now all XFX (and most others) need to do is get rid of that nasty green PCB..............:) I know that the color has nothing to do with anything besides price, but come on, green went out a long time ago................;)

Got a question about the board, I'm wanting to know what type of mounting method that they are using to secure the NB on this board. I hope that it isn't that nasty hook and loop type.

werty316
05-02-2007, 07:32 PM
Nope, the 680i boards use four socket holes for the NB and two sockets holes for the SB.

Good, as I saw that on the DFi 680i board they used hook and loop, and I hate those.

hey anyone can tell me whats the basic difference between XFX 680 SLi and XFX 680i LT mobos?

i m trying my level best to find any nuke or corner on internet where the comparison between the two is done but i was in the end desparate to find not a single site relating to this.

can anyone help me coz i m gonna buy a mobo for gaming that shouldnt be expensive and performance wise that should be good.
The 680i LT is the "light" version of the 680i SLI and sacrifices features for lower price.

However, with current prices, you should go with a 750i SLI or 780i SLI
