Agreed as why would you campaign for a lower price if you don't plan on buying one?

herr,

A guy in sales once told me you can't sell the top of line if you're pitchin' the bottom of the barrel.

Beyond a drop in price, the net affect is that an unflattering situation has been corrected.

Be it three cheers, or the signature of the Boss of the company, or even a small token of their appreciation in the form of a 680i LT, some small gesture would seem appropriate.

Hopefully, they will send you an "'At a boy!", your way.

I'm thinking you're asking for too much my friend...

At first you were asking XFX to reduce the price and they DID (and it's time to THANK XFX for that), but now you're asking for a present? Why?

If you're so interested in their board, just go and buy it! And you'll even save 60 bucks...

OH...and nothing personal, Good Luck with that request of yours...;-)

Yea what they said. I think your thanx should be that they dropped the price of the board and if your such a fan then you buy it. My $0.02

First thing I have the XFX 680i LT already, second thing are you having a problem with me asking for a present? I did'nt ask for hardware just anything, a card... and it was kind of a joke, and if I get something that's very nice of them. If you are bored or something I feel sorry for you. Because it's none of your business. All respect.

I'm not having any problem with that nor I'm bored...and I'll be happy with you if you'll get a present from them. I just think PERSONALLY that it's too much asking a present from them...WITH ALL THE RESPECT!!!

And try to be polite to the other guys in the forum...just my 2 cents advice...;-)

Oh...and you'd better remove that address of your, unless you'd like strange things posted to you... (if you wish, you can PM xfxsupport your address :icon_tiphat: ).

Actually, the people who should be thanking you are the people that you helped save money. They are the ones who have benefited from your post about the retailers gouging their customers.

Also, if I remember correctly, XFX support did say "thank you" for bringing it to their attention in the thread you started. That's the most anyone should expect from this situation.

Isnt Scott going to give out a 680i LT or something as a present to a forum member this month?

Now that would be a present! That would definitely start me on the upgrade path!

Yeah, he is here is the link to the thread, but it is closed for people being off topic. http://www.bjorn3d.com/forum/showthread.php?t=13021&highlight=april+contest

And here is a review if you haven't read it yet. This motherboard seems to be really good. I would like to get my hands on it. http://www.bjorn3d.com/forum/showthread.php?t=13254

Yeah...I really hope I'll get lucky this month (I guess everyone does!!! )

It'll be great to win this board instead of having to buy the ASUS P5N-E 650i, not that the ASUS is "that" bad...;-)

Hey Zachig. You are insulting my Asus motherboard. ayayay. (Just Kidding). Yep, everybody is hoping to win the motherboard I believe.

I heard that Asus was a great company for motherboards, that's why I got my motherboard from them. Is that true, are they good? My motherboard is working just fine and I like it a lot, but that new XFX nforce 680 motherboard would smoke mine.

Don't take it perosnally, peti1212...;-)

I like ASUS, it's just that I've heard too many complaint lately reagrding their latest 650i/680i mobos. Anyway, I'm still interested in that ASUS P5N-E 650i, and hopefully it'll be compatible with my Mushkin XP2-8500 RAM. I'll probably get the P5N-E, unless I'll find a VERY GOOD deal on one of the new 680i LT boards...

BTW, anybody knows if Intel's price drop on Apr. 22 will affect IMMEDIATELY the prices in the stores? as I have a friend who's currently in the states and can buy for me the E6600 and P5N-E mobo on the 28-29/Apr. Hopefully prices (of the E6600) will be affected by then...;-)

A few online stores seem to have lowered their prices already.

It's surprising that Fry's "only" dropped their E6600 price to $269...:frown:

I really hope that the store in San Francisco I'm sending my friend to (to buy it for me) will lower their price till Apr. 29. ;-)

If someone is interested, it's "Central Computers" (www.centralcomputers.com (http://www.centralcomputers.com)). Anyone knows them? I could only find two local PC shops near the hotel that my friends will be staying...:frown:
The other one is "A & M Computer Systems" (www.anmcomputers (http://www.anmcomputers)).
