Sadly I will not be able to publish any benchmarks for my SLI setup of the 2 8800GTS 320MB.
I have tried every tricks I could find to get it enabled on this Commando board but to no avail.
I'm still waiting for Regen from NGOHQ.com for a response.
But it seems that it won't be possible.
Its alrigth though, i'ma get a SLI board soon anyways ... i have no choice...
I really find it deplorable from Nvidia to use those kind of cheap marketing scemes to make money and promote their own product.

You have a commando mobo...lucky you...I hear that those mobos are great overclockers.
I wish I could really afford a commando but it looks like Im probably going to get an xfx ultra....whenever they become available.

Why would you need a response by Regen from NGOHQ.com?
One reason the modded drivers (http://www.overclock247.com/pyr0/Intel%20SLi) might not work is that they are older drivers and probably don't support the 8800 card but I think using a moddified INF should fix that issue.
Is that the reason why it doesn't work or is it something else?
Also I wouldn't say that about nVidia and their tech since the same thing can be said about ATi.

Of course it can be said for both sides but Nvidia were the ones who started the dance with that stuff.
I tried the trick with adding the 8800GTS in the inf file but it recognises the card but when it installs an error message pops up.
I'm waiting for a response from Regen because there was this NGO patch for Intel chip sets but some says its not possible to do it on the P965 chipset.
Well it was at the begining for the ULi chipset...anyways i'll let you guys know if there's anything else that pops up.

YAY...that's too bad...:frown:

Yeah, the Commadno is indeed a great overclocker, but like Schwarz said, he can't take advantage of his SLi setup with this board...:frown:
Don't worry Schwarz, I'm pretty sure you'll benefit from you SLi setup, once you'll get your SLi mobo. ;-)
BTW, did you think of a certain mobo to get? Is it going to be a 650i? or maybe 680i/680i-LT? :-?
Don't forget to keep us updated...:icon_tiphat:
I'll probably be going with the ASUS P5N-E 650i afterall, as my friend will be in San Francisco next weekend and I told him to grab for me there (at www.centralcomputers.com (http://www.centralcomputers.com)) the ASUS P5N-E 650i, as it seems it's the only 650i mobo they currently have in stock...
Hopefully it'll be available in stock, so I'll soon have both the E6600 and ASUS P5N-E for around $350 ($120 for the mobo and $230 for the CPU).
I decided to let him buy it for me, as currently my business trip to China is scheduled for May 5....:frown:

If these modded drivers can't enable the G80 SLI on ur Commando, then i think you'll have to wait for the modded Forceware 9 or 10 series drivers coz these 8 series modded drivers don't support the G80 natively.Actually every 6 & 7 series card can be used on ur mobo to run SLI but there are not yet any modded driver that natively supports G80 SLI on non-SLI boards.
I've that NGO patch but not sure if that patch will work on your board.First uninstall your current display driver & install the genuine Forceware driver. Then install this NGO patch (by Regeneration) from here (http://www.3dcenter.org/downloads/files/cb46p71/sli_patch.zip) & let's see if that can enable G80 SLI on Commando.Let us know.

Thats what I tried just now.
Downloaded the latest drivers and tried to install the NGO patch.
Next board I dunno but ima get a XFX or eVGA.
I don';t think i'll go ASUS anymore.
Not taking away anything from ASUS their boards are very good.
But their customer support is the worst I have ever seen.
They don't answer you, their website is slow as crap.
Anyways i'll see in the following weeks what im going to do.
I might also get myself a C2D since ima have to tske out the board.
Might as well change the procy too.

You are absolutely right about their customer support, but I really don't have choice, as it's the only mobo my friend can get for me while he'll be in san Francisco (for only 2 days...:frown:). But like you said, in general, ASUS mobos are pretty good. Hopefully, I won't be dissapointed with the P5N-E...

That would be nice....;-) GOOD LUCK!!! :icon_tiphat:

I'll probably once again be a cheapskate and get a E4300 :p
Did the same thing 2 years ago...or when the PD805 came out.
Ima push it to 3.5Ghz since it seems it is easily reachable with a aftermarket HSF.
Then later on im'a push it more since I have lots of headroom with my Mach 2.
Now I know this is offtopic in my own thread but what board should I go for.
I'll check out a few reviews here and there and check out what I need from a board and the price of course but i mean eVGA XFX...? Asus :(

So zachig why does your friend have to get you your mobo?Because I'm currently in Israel and probably won't be in the US in the near future...:frown: And originally I've planned on purchasing the mobo/CPU myself during my business trip in China, but since it was delayed over and over again (and currently scheduled for May 5.), I prefer that he'll buy it for me while he'll be in San Francisco. ;-) If he won't be able to buy it for me, I guess I'll buy it myself eventually, it's just that I'll have to be more patient...

"A" is the right answer, my friend. It's just too expensive for me in Israel (about 30% more...around $180-$185) for the ASUS P5N-E 650i...:frown:
