Hi to everyone!
I write from Italy and have just discovered this forum. I'm happy to find out this great XFX support portal. :)

I have a probem with my brand new XFX 8800Ultra.
I come from another XFX product, a 8800GTX with whitch one I never had any ot these problems.

I realized that I have some problems when I realized that I did a 3DMark06 score too near to the one I made with the GTX card.

I made 10231 with the 8800GTX and 10612 with the 8800Ultra card.
After a few tries I reached a resault that was even worst the one I made with thr GTX!!

Looking at the scores in the exported 3DMark06 EXCEL file I realized this:

VGA Memory Clock 378 MHz
VGA Core Clock 108 MHz

In the Online ResultBorwser, under the Alalysis tab, beside the Graphics Card entry I have "Generic VGA, 108 MHz / 3 78 MHz", and under the Configuration tab beside the Graphics Chipset I have "Generic VGA With 742 MB Memory"

So I asked in an Italian forum and I was told to check for the vga descriptor using some UNIX live CD/DVD and execute from shell the command "lspci".
What I got from that was this:

01:00.0 VGA compatible controller: nVidia Corporation Unknown device 0194 (rev a2)

I have also noticed that the XFX 8800GTX at bootup it showed its specs before the motherboard logo.
This new XFX 8800Ultra does not show nothing.

I tried to install only ForceWare drivers. First I tried the last 158.18, and then the last BETA 158.43 drivers, both with no success.

I have a ASUS P5B-VM motherboard and 2x1Gb Kingmax DDR2-800MHz and running Winodws Vista Ultimate 32bit.

Please let me know how to solve this.
Thank you all. :)

I am thiking about a registry problem.

Please help me as follows:

Does anyone here have Windows Vista with an NVIDIA 8800 Ultra???

If so, can someone please check 3DMark2006 and the registry and tell me what do you have in the locations I show with the arrows???

I will try usinig an 8800 Ultra in Vista and see how 3DMark06 will list the video card. Also try looking under Ntune and let us know what it lists the speeds as. Thanks.

You have me beat, when I use the 8800 Ultra in Vista and 3DMark06 it shows the speeds as 0, so it looks like there is an issue with 3DMark06 reading this card right. Not to be concerned as when I check in Ntune the speeds are correct, and the video card seems to be rendering everything correctly, I recommend you run the Lost Planet DirectX 10 demo as it looks great. If your concern is that you dont have a large increase in your score this might be expected depending on the model of 8800GTX and 8800 Ultra you are comparing. I do know that Scott is working on a review of the 8800 Ultra and will be sharing that with us all soon.

Yeah Futuremark does not know the card yet. They have not approved any of the drivers yet.

My 3Dmark 06 score is 11679 with a E6700 running at 3GHz. And that is running Vista.
