Why not it just makes things so much easier for the consumer. If only more companies would offer it because my computer is the one and only the family uses it being out of commission for long periods of time is a not to good for anyone.

Any way to edit the poll so you cant select 2 check boxes at once (guess thats the programmer side of me coming out). My lecturer liked to refer to it as idiot proofing. We know any sensible person wouldnt select 2 options, but along comes an idiot and...

It does sound nice for the consumer but there are so many possibilities of fraud that I don't see a company buying into it. I remember when ATI had a buy up program (They were accepting any card from any manufacturer) and you had to put down the cost of the new card (authorized on any major CC) and they would mail you a new one. It was something like you had 15 days from the date of transaction to mail (and have received) your old card or they would process the funds authorized on your CC. Insurance!

Now if XFX had a program of that sort for RMAs, sure, it would be a no brainer...

I would have loved to have a cross shipped replacement, even if it would have cost me a little bit of money. I ended up having to buy a $130 video card so I could still use my computer while I waited for my card to ship out and back.

Well hows about if you would have to register your video card/motherboard and provide a valid receipt unless other wise stated along with a credit card?

Thats how eVGA handled their quadcore 680i program.

I've done it in the past with Hard drives and all went smoothly, so why not.

119 Views only 12 total votes. I would think more people would be concerned about Cross Shipping RMA's (positive or negative).
