driver problem with vista

Just installed Vista Ultimate onto a 3ghz HP Media Center PC, using an XFX GeForce 7900 GS I just bought a few weeks ago. On XP it installed and ran fine, now with Vista I have no drivers...I run the install disk and it does the installation and reboots but no drivers, still only shows 'standard vga driver'....anyone have any idea whats going on?

hi , i to install my 7950gt agp in vista too and had the same problem. also tried the xfx vista driver but after a reboot vista said i have a standard vga card

Forgot to mention i downloaded the vista driver from the XFX site, not using disc that came with card.

So you only tried with the drivers from the CD? Try downloading the Vista drivers for it.

I tried to respond but the post didnt go up for w/e reason. As I tried to tell you I did not use the disk, I downloaded the Vista Driver from XFX site. I just now tried forcing the device manager to use the drivers from the xfx site and windows told me 'The driver selected for this device does not support windows vista'.

Are you two administrators of the computer? If not then I don't think you can install that kind of software.

uberwabawaba, you need to learn patience I'm afraid. Your initial post was up in the wee hours of the morning for some people... xfxsupport is usually very prompt and helpful with any problems. Give him some time and I'm sure that he will see this thread and try and offer you any aid that he can.

Sorry for the delay but I am on the West Coast so my day is just starting. You are using a 7900GS in Vista Ultimate but the drivers from our website are not working?
64bit:

Or do they work and allow an install, however device manager shows a Standard VGA card and not listing the XFX 7900GS? Are you using 32bit or 64bit Vista? Let me know and I will attempt to duplicate the concern.
