I can't startup my pc. I hear a long beep and the LED post code is C1.
After replacing gpu and ram I get a C3 errorcode. I don't know what it means and how to solve it. The board has worked but since I plugged in the floppy it has stopped working. The xfx support page gives zero help (or I am blind to the help page)-edit: yes I admit I am/was (partially) blind-. Please help me!

XFX 8600GTS 256MB
Seasonic S12-550 AXT2 Energy+

All brand new.
Tried disconnecting everything, changing ram installation, with or without gpu... Running out of ideas to try out!

You need some genric RAM to up the RAM voltage. The memory you have will not run at stock memory voltage so the machine is not posting.

After a hard bios reset I can run again on ram module A (just a given name to make a difference between the 2 modules) at default voltage.
If i increase it to 2,3V it still works perfectly.
But module B (again just a given name to make a difference between the 2 modules) won't work because when I plug it in the motherboard gives errorcode C1 and gives (very) long beeps.
Therefore I think it may be broken.
I am also not happy testing it in another pc with generic ram because that generic ram may get broken when I increase the voltage to 2,3V for testing module B.
What should / can I do next / now?

Sorry for the delay in response as I was out of the office Friday. Please start a support ticket at www.xfxforce.com and then let me know the number. I will also check to see what C3 represents.

Because I suspect module B (see post above) is defect I've already asked for RMA, but I still really like to know what C1 (and C3 and F6 and 50) means because that will of course help solve everything.
Explanation:
C1 (+beep): comes when I insert module B (@ default and 2.3V)
C3: came when I used only module A, solved after hard bios reset
50:comes when I connect an USB disk/stick before bios
F6: comes when no ram installed

I could gues what those codes mean, but a *complete overview* would be REALLY great!
The manual is of *totally NO* use for every minor & major problem I encountered...:frown: -edit: only a little for bios reset-

ticket info: 95288 (2007/06/10)
and I say it again: C3 was resolved by a hard bios reset, but I never knew what it meant.

C1 and C2 have to do with memory errors. If your memory is problem free then there could be an issue with your motherboard. I have sent an email to my Europe team, informing them of your situation.
