Hi does someone have a layout for the audio pin ports for a front panel mic/speaker jacks? I have 7 wires from the front panel and 9 pins where the manual indicates that I should plug it in. However it doesnt say how.
Also, why i'm asking, can i get a layout of which fan ports i should plug my fans into. I got the cpu one plugged correctly, where do i plug in the one from my psu?

The chassis speaker connector is on the bottom left corner when you are looking at the motherboard, the four pin connector labeled J1A1. The red wire connects to the pin with the white triangle pointing to it. The fan ports are pretty much universal and you can connect to any available port. Hope this helps, let me know if you need anything else.

Hi, thanks for posting all this info that seems to be lacking in the manual. This site so far has been of great service to me as I track down and fix the few bugs my build has run into (90% setup on the bench before trans to case complete). It's all sugar coating at this point as I button up the system and make these final connections.
I have a quick question however, the case this is going into (at least for now) has only AC97 front panel sound connections. If I follow the pinout for this I still get no sound from the front. The last system I built had HD on the front panel, and that mobo's manual stated that the header would work in each mode depending on how you connected it and I think one setting in the bios. That was a Gigabyte N650SLi-DS4.
At first discovering the missing section in the manual, I simply went to a couple other manuals I have since these HD and AC97 headers tend to be quite generic. I still didn't get any sound from the front though, it also wouldn't mute the rear or sense jacks or anything.
That's when I came here (again), and followed the pinouts posted above. Checking my previous connections, I was already spot on. So into the bios I went, and found only the option to enable or disable HD sound -- am I correct to assume that this is simply to disable the onboard sound and nothing to do with the front panel?
I've disconnected the lot for now, and will yank the cable out of view later if I can't resolve it.
I can't access my UserCP yet to add a sig, so here is the rig's specs:
XFX nF650i-Ultra | P02 bios
E2160 DUal Core 1.6ghz 800fsb 1mb
2 x 512mb G.Skill 6400 PK's
EVGA 6800GS PCI-e 256mb
OCZ StealthXStream 600w
Currently up on a spare Caviar 80gig Pata, XP Pro.
Much obliged for any assistance!
