Hi, hopefully biohazard will answer very quickly and throughly again.
Anyway, as I understand it, the network adapter is emulated somehow through the nvidia network bridge or something like that. Thats cool and all and the internet works but how do manual stuff like static ips, adding gateways, etc.
Nothing shows up under Network Connections folder in Windows XP.
I've already reinstalled windows though that was cause I had an svchost error related to this.
Also, if you have time, how do I upgrade the bios w/o a floppy drive?
Thanks

I have no clue about your network, I'm not into that sort of thing, sorry.
As for Bios flashing, tahe a look at both my thread for the 680i LT for the files needed to make a bootable USB flash drive and then check out the other 650i Ultra thread for the bios files themselves.

Or you can simply open a support ticket to XFX and explain to them that you don't have a floppy drive and they will email you a ISO file for a bootable CD so you can flash the board that way.

I will double check but I am pretty sure our engineers are currently in the process of creating a windows based bios update. Please start a support ticket at www.xfxforce.com and then PM me the ticket number so once its finished we can let you know.

I am not sure but I think you would have to ask your ISP for the answer to this question.

Assuming you have multiple PC's on a network running off a router connected to a cable modem or DSL modem.
Click start->settings-> network connections.
if your connection is active the window that pops up will have a listing called 'Local Area Connection'
Select it and on the left side of the windows at the bottom you will see your network info. i.e. your IP address, subnet mask, and if it is assign by DHCP or static.
Click the right mouse button on 'Local Area Connection' and select properties.
On the new window scroll to the bottom of the list where it says 'Internet Protocol (TCP/IP). Highlight it and select properties.
A new window will open up and this is where you can select to enter the information manually. Entering it manually makes it static. The only reason you would need to do this is to open ports on your router and route data specifically to one machine on your network. 99% of the time DHCP is all that is necessary.
To obtain your current gateway info
Click start->run
Type 'CMD' (no quotes) and press enter.
In the command box enter 'IPCONFIG' (no quotes). It will display your network info including your default gateway.
When your done entering your IP and subnet manually click ok.

There is nothing listing under network connections. I'm online but I can't set my static ip or connect to online games (ones that are made by Valve anyway or use the Master Source Server).
Here are my ipconfig results

I can tell you EXACTLY what your problem is!!!
You installed Network Access Manager when installing the Ethernet drivers on the CD, you need to clean reinstall your OS and then manually install the ethernet drivers through Device Manager!

Hi!
Tried to post but not here!!
Your problem is Network Access Manager, when you installed Ethernet drivers in setup it asked if you want to install NAM (Network Access Manager). This causes a problem!
You need to reinstall XP and manually load the NIC drivers under device manager!
