Excerpt: "What we do know is that tody we have XFX's 680i SLI motherboard here at Bjorn3D and plan to put it through our rather extensive review process. Will it be just another NVIDIA 680i SLI reference board with XFX's named stamped on it or is there something special about this board that NVIDIA and XFX have reserved until now? We'll do our dead level best to answer this and other questions in our review."

Very very fine motherboard but imo to expensive. The chipset is also a hot one but it is normal for NVIDIA. For me nice successor of 5XX chipsets which were total tragedy. Still if i have to buy a motherboard i'll chose something based on intel, maybe abit quad GT. But if money are no problem this one will be a perfect choice :)

If money is tight, just get yourself a quality board with the 650I chipset, they clock every bit as well, and depending on the bios, sometimes better, and all that for half the price. But if you have to have 16x SLI, the 680LT isn't to bad either.

No lifetime warranty??? that is odd.

For me SLi is not usefull at all. Sigle 8800GTX will be fine for now. Then after a year i can invest some cash in 9XXX series which will be much more reasonable. I am afraid that all this DX10 will be a tragedy until second generation of cards will be realesed (the same was with first cards with DX9).
Oh and DFI is not sleeping

Well DX10 can't really grow with no software to mature from...
Plus you are kinda contradicting yourself by mentioning the DFI P35...

DFI is just way to over priced anymore these days. They do have some great options and all, but at twice the price as as most others out there, they are way out of my price class anymore.

Looks like the LT is a better buy.

Well it depends on your purpose. The 680i SLI has the capability of EPP memory up to 1200MHz. This is a nice feature (one that could use a little more publicity) as all you need to do is find memory that is EPP ready and it's plug and play, the motherboard automatically overclocks the memory to 1200MHz, or what ever the EPP setting is for that particular memory module. Have no fear if the memory is not EPP ready you can disable EPP in the bios and manually overclock it. This will provide a nice increase in performance when compared to its little brother the 680I LT running at only 800MHz. So if your looking for the fastest and the best the 680i SLI is the way to go, especially with DDR3 making its way on the market I hope to see high end DDR2 EPP memory drop in prices.

Yes,the EPP ready memory support is definitely a big plus for 680i SLI boards.

I definitely have to agree with XFX Support on this, the 680i provides a number of features the 680i LT doesn't and the current price makes it very attractive!

I'm not a big fan of EPP memory, you can get much better performance out of alot of different ram by tweaking it your self. The programming on must makers EPP settings is way on the conservitive side..............;) Just a lazy mans OC tool. Oh, the LT supports EPP up to DDR2800, which provides 1:1 timings for most average aircooling OC's for best performance..............:)

I found that if you download the manual from the website, they have the sata ports labeled correctly.

I guess they have an even newer one now because the one I saw had 1 and 2 on the 90. That is all I was saying.:ahhhhh:
