View Full Version : 7900GT and Customer support - Big variations

I have already posted my hardware problem in the ever-growing thread about the 7900GT artifact problem and cannot help but notice the different, nay, almost preferential treatment, handed out to our American cousins by tech support.

As Brits, we are plagued by gear which costs twice as much to buy as you chaps pay, and when it goes wrong we have a constant battle with UK tech support teams to actually convince them that we are not drooling idiots, lying about their product having a problem.

It is 16 days since I opened a ticket with the XFX UK support and 9 days since I last had a response. I see that you also get a lifetime warranty.

Don't get me wrong, I think that the consumer protection offered in America is excellent. I'd just like to see a little of it on this side of the pond :frown:

I haven't rated the XFX tech support ticket yet because you have to click on at least one star to do so. Jury still out there.

Sorry to hear of any hassles or delays in getting your video card problems taken care of. Please let me know your ticket number so I can assist in getting this resolved.

Thanks for the info, I will send an email to the Europe support team to ensure you get taken care of. Also if you are unable to return the video card to your retailer make sure you note that in the ticket as well.

Dear support chap.
Thank you for your attention.
I received an RMA the very next day after your kind words. The card is now winging it's way to the support office.

Thanks again for your help. It is much appreciated.

As an aside, and harping back to my original moan about the variation in tech support, I see that in America there is a toll free phone number for contact. Over here, we get a helpline that costs a dollar a minute!!!!

Oh, well.

Mr. Darcy,

You may want to spread the word to any others that have XFX products and support issues about the support I host here.

We are finding that my tech is being very helpful with clients through out the world.

Scott,
I shall certainly do that. It is the least I can do to show my gratitude.
