Can someone from XFX suggest southbridge and northbridge heatsink fans for a 650i Ultra please. I ordered one and would like to add some cooling to these areas.
Would units made for the XFX 680i LT fit? I've seen EVGA units for sale on Tiger Direct's site, but putting EVGA fans on an XFX board would just be wrong :ahhhhh:

Maybe XFX could hook you up with the SB cooler that is used on the 680i LT SLI.
If not one of these could work for the SB:

For NB cooling you could use one of these:

That's the unit I slipped on over my southbridge. Even working passively with the airflow in the case in dropped the temps by more then 10C. Measured with an infrared thermometer.
Doesn't help in my oc but a cooler pc is a happy pc

I called XFX and they said they don't sell them separately :frown:
In that case I'll take them for free

As of now we dont have any one company we recommend, but from what I hear that might be in the works. In the mean time I would go with the The Gonz's suggestion as he has done extensive testing already so you can bet that one will work for you.

hi
i have just got a 680i LT and am finding the north and south bridge cooling fans very noisy, is there a quieter option available ie can a passive system cool it enough?

no answer for heymoa??
I just replaced my NB fan and heatsink with a vantec iceberg chipset cooler, because the original fan was making a screaming noise. (not loud but enough to annoy).
I wanted to just replace the fan but it's an uncommon size (50mm). when I received the vantec, I realized that the fan is designed to go directly on the chip (without heatsink).
It's a smaller, quieter low profile alternative to the original, but I have no idea if the temp has changed as nTune and Speedfan will not report the NB temp.
