Alrighty, here goes:
First off: I didn't run memtest86+ because 1) I couldn't get it to boot from a USB key, 2) I don't have any blank cd's at the moment. Also, it should pass Orthos anyway.
I manually set my Crucial Ballistix(DDR2 800) to the manufacturer's rating, which is 4-4-4-12-2T @ 2.2v
I ran Orthos to test my Crucial Ballistix in my new 680i LT. I had them set in dual channel mode. When the stress is run on the ram, Orthos will fail within 1/2 hour. This also applies to blend mode, but it will fail in roughly 2 hours.
So I took one stick out and tested, and it was fine. The other stick I did the same. I then slot tested, and it was fine. But they aren't working together.
Also, these particular pair of Ballistix were great performers in my p5b dlx.
All of this seems to means I must be missing a setting somewhere. I'm new to the whole 680i realm, so please don't make to much fun.
So what settings am I missing?
ps~The ram had plenty of cooling, so that's not the issue.(Desk fan blowing in for assurance of coolness, lol.)
