Hello everybody, our home theatre speaker set is going bad because whenever there is a deep sound it makes cracking noises. I was just wondering if you guys could give me a good advice in Home Theatre Audio speaker sets which sound really good and are enjoyable in action and any other movies. I also don't want it to be really expensive, maybe a resonable price. Thanks for the help! :icon_tiphat:

Well I'm not sure about current prices and such, but I had the same kind of thing happen to mine, and in the end it turned out to be a dodgy optical cable connecting the dvd player to the amp. If you're setup is anything like that, if you havn't already tried it it would be worth a look just in case

Ok. I will make sure to try that. Since now we have this really cool radio that it is connected to I will have to try out some other connectors on the back, maybe it is connnected to the wrong one or something since my dad was playing around with it when he put a home theatre computer to our TV. ;-)

One brand always comes to my mind....BOSE..................;)

I've had my HT system for years and never had a problem with it, they are a bit on the expensive side though.

Mr.Bose was the first Indian to make a worldclass Speaker system but being an Indian company, even we can't lay our hands on it bcoz it's so pricey. The extra price is worth it though.

Dr. Amar G. Bose is East Indian and was a professor of electrical engineering at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology when he founded the company in 1964 here in the US. The company is located on the east coast in the town of Framingham MA.

At one time I was a sales rep for Bose products in the area military sales stores. That's the only way I could afford to buy anything Bose makes.

I used to have a Bose 3-2-1 system a few years ago and found the speakers to be all mid range. I had to play movies with the volume on 80 to get any halfway decent sound from them. I sold it to my sister who loved it until recently when it started refusing to play backups dvds .

polk, audio technica, harman-kardon, JBL, bose, and kef are all brands that suit people looking for more quality than value (not cheap, bot golden sound!)

Yes, I heard tha sony sells some really good speakers too. Here is what I was thinking about. What do you guys think?

http://www.sonystyle.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/ProductDisplay?catalogId=10551&storeId=10151&langId=-1&XID=O:ht-ddw990:dg_ggldf&kw=ht-ddw990&lp=8198552921665065947&productId=8198552921665065947

But is there anything just like speakers, because I have a preety decent dvd player right now, and all I would need is the speakers.

Have you got any specifics on the dvd player? Does it have an inbuilt amp or does it connect to an external amp? You would need to know the wattage of the amp and maybe even of each different channel so that you can buy speakers to best suit your amp
