My Hiper Type R 480w doesnt have a six pin plug.

Therefore i have had to buy a 4pin to 6pin adaptor.

Will this be sufficient to power my 'xfx 8800 gts 320mb xxx' ?? Or do i need to get a new psu?

Total spec below:

E6600
Msi p6n platinum
2 gig corsair xms2 6400C4 ddr2
2 x 36gb western digi raptors (raid-0)
xfx 8800 gts 320mb xxx
1 cdrw
1 dvd

Thanks in advance

With 4-pin you are talking about a regular MOLEX-connector, right? This is a flat connector with 4 pins that is used for regular CD/DVD drives, IDE-drivers and many fans etc.

You are hopefully not talking about the 4-pin square connector that goes into the motherboard.

It's a pretty good PSU (at least I seem to recall Hiper is an ok brand) but 480W might be on the low side for that colelction of hardware. you got some good stuff in there thatr also sucks some juice (2 raptors, E6600).

Is it this PSU?

Actually that has a PCI-E connector so that can't be it ... can't find any other Hiper 480W PSU's ..

If your power supply does not have the 6 pin power connector you can use the adapter that has two 4 pin molex connectors on one end and a 6 pin power connector on the other. If you live in the US or Canada you can create a ticket at www.xfxforce.com and request that adapter and we will send it at no charge.
