Hi, digitalbalu, welcome to the forums.
----------------------------------------
CPU :- Intel Core2Duo E6600 & if u can afford, then Q6600. (There's a price cut this month for Intel CPUs,so if u can wait till that, you can buy yourself a Quad core Q6600 at very reasonable cost)
Motherboard :- Asus P5N650i SLI/XFX 680i LT SLI.
Graphix:- XFX 8600GT/GTS & if u can afford then SLI.
Ram :- Corsair DDR2 800 2x1 GB total 2GB
Power Supply :- OCZ Gamextream 800W/Cooler Master Real Power 850W

i agree, if you can wait, wait till the end of the month. Quad core should help with the video rendering apps. go for either 2x1gig or 2x2gig as more ram should help with the vid rendering as well. As for the gfx, if you are not gaming at all, go for 8600 series of the card as they offer good performance and has better video encoding ability.
As for the board, I would say go for the 650/680 or maybe even the new intel p35 board would be a good choice.

Just a couple of questions that "should" have been ask first off; what type of budget are you looking at, do you game at all, do you plan on OC'ing at all. Without this knowledge we can't give a solid recomondation on what type of parts to get.
A good example is the memory, if you are not going to OC at all, there is no reason in the world to buy DDR2800 ram, it's a simple waste of money.
There's also not much of a reason to buy such a large PSU unless you're planning on running a top video card, even with a Quad CPU, a quality PSU in the 600-700 watt range is more than enough to push a fairly good system like the one you're looking to build. A good example would be my system, I'm running a ton of water cooling and OC the poop out of everything and I don't come anywhere near maxing out my current 700 watt OZC PSU. As a matter of fact, I have run this system without any issues on PSU's as low as 550 watts. Just make sure that it's a quality unit.
So budget please so we can scale the rig to fit your needs "AND" budget.

Well, after reading his post, it sounds like he is building this for a customer who will be using it for work related things. I highly doubt he will be playing video games on it.
Also you could probably save some more money be NOT getting an SLI ready motherboard as he will unlikely need or use that feature ever. What I mean is, just worry about the price. If it so happens that an SLI mobo fits your budget and needs, then get it. If not, then it would be ok to get another board, like one that has an Intel chipset.
