Ok, I've sort of posed this question at some other forums but haven't really gotten an answer. I have an old Sharp Camcorder (8mm I believe) that I have some older videos of my kids. I want to get them onto DVD. Is it possible to just plug in the composite video out on the camcorder into the composite video in on the video card and somehow record it? Anyone know if I need special software to do this or is there something on the card I have to 'turn on' in order for it to work? The card is a XFX 7800GT, model PV-T70G-UDF7 if that helps at all. :help:

your card supports vivo, so it should work fine. I am not sure if the VIVO suppors the composite out or the s-video, but you need to download this WDM driver from nvidia:
http://www.nvidia.com/object/wdm_geforce_4.13.html
you can practically use any video editing software to do the video capture.

You need the WDM drivers instlled as victor mentioned
And you need to use the cable you got with card and one labeled Video in.
try VirtualVCR (http://virtualvcr.sourceforge.net/) or VirtualDub (http://www.virtualdub.org/) very easy & free tools.

if I am not mistaken, all 7800 card has VIVO but most 7900 cards are not, but some do have the VIVO ability, check the manufacture's site for more info, PP Mguire.
